• My office and I will be readily available to the voters of Roanoke City. Although I can not promise that our decisions will always coincide with your desired outcome, I can promise that we will work together to make sure that your tax bill is fair. I will personally be available to any citizen who believes it is necessary for them to speak with the Commissioner directly.
• I will create and implement a business plan for our office. We will operate like any other business, with measurable and attainable goals that guide our performance and ultimately ensure the accuracy and fairness of the service we provide.
• I will work closely with our staff to improve our efficiencies through a comprehensive cross training program, any employee of the Commissioner’s office will be able to assist you with any question or concern.
• I, along with the employees of the Commissioner’s Office will ensure the fair and equitable taxation of all Roanoke businesses and citizens alike.
• I will welcome an annual audit of our records and practices so that we may have the opportunity to improve our service to the citizens of Roanoke.
• It will be my policy that we will audit and penalize any business operating within the City of Roanoke without a business license.
• I will always be available to the news media for any questions or concerns that they may have regarding the Commissioner’s Office.
