Biography
Douglas Walker was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on June 12, 1976. He returned with his family to their roots in Lynchburg in 1988. While his family’s home base continues to be in Lynchburg, Douglas has been living in the Roanoke Valley for the past five years.
Douglas attended the University of Virginia where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1999. He accepted a job with the E&J Gallo Winery’s Management Development Program, and began that employment immediately after graduation, rising to the position of District Manager in a short time.
In 2002, Douglas entered BMW’s Dealer School in Munich, Germany where he received extensive training in accounting, management, sales and customer service. After successful completion of this rigorous program, he returned to Virginia and began his career with The Hammersley Group. He was quickly promoted through the ranks, and was General Manager when the business was sold in the last quarter of 2008.
Douglas and his wife Brittany enjoy spending time together in the beautiful Roanoke Valley with their two dogs. In their free time, they enjoy cooking together and traveling.
